If you ever doubted Firefox performance, doubt no more...

We have developed a very demanding web-application that pushes current Browser performance to the limit. No prize for guessing which one comes out on top .

In the application we have included a performance test [ menu > tools > performance test ]. Synced in real-time is a heap of JavaScript calculation, and lots of display manipulation. Basically the performance figure is the result of continuously doing the processing without a time sync - i.e. 100% would mean there was just enough time to do everything in the interval allowed.

The results are obviously quite dependent on the machine environment, but in a given situation, Firefox is the stand-out performer. Some Browsers grind to a halt tackling the JavaScript. Testing we've done has focussed on FF2+, IE7+, OP9.5 and Safari/Win3.1.
