Firefox in the enterprise
Posted January 15th, 2008 by JustZisGuy
Well, just a quick first post, I really feel that this group needs to be here. Walk in to any typical company, organization, or government agency and what are they running? Not Firefox. What do their internal web apps work best with? Not Firefox.
I'll add more links to resources as I come across them.
enterprise usage
Well I have to dispute your claims.
during the past 4 years I worked at 3 different employers.
And most users have 2 or 3 browsers at their desktop.
Why ? well some sites work better in this, others better on that.
W3C does a great job but has little authority.
It would be great if system administrators had some
remote configuration functionality, to update everyones proxy settings or
clear unneeded cached files on admins demand, etc ...
Re: enterprise usage
It's great to hear that there are some places that are open minded enough to permit users to use Firefox. Still, I have to wonder of those "well some sites work better in this, others better on that" how many of those are Intranet applications that only work right in IE?
I would be interested to hear any other accounts from people about other companies.
Great idea for a group. And
Great idea for a group.
And it's nice to see that you are still actively contributing to Spread Firefox.
